Inside the book
This App was made with love by a mama with a broken heart wanting to save another mama, papa, brother, sister.... from the pain of losing a child/sibling. I also created:
- Aaron the Goose Series (a series of books about Aaron's life)
- The Goose Foundation & Facebook Group
All were created to honor my son Aaron Anthony "GOOSE" McArthur so he would never be forgotten — as well as preserve the memories of all the others loved and lost.
I want to wake parents up!
If this can happen to my child — this could happen to your child.
Aaron had witnessed firsthand the devastation addiction brought to someone in our family. I believed that seeing those consequences—and teaching my children that drugs were dangerous—would be enough. I thought if I ignored the drug crisis, it would never touch my family.
I WAS WRONG!
If our story teaches anything, let it be this: educate yourself and your children. Fentanyl does not discriminate. It can happen to any family, regardless of how much love, guidance, or protection you provide.
Learn how to recognize an overdose and how to administer Naloxone (Narcan®). Keep it at home, in your purse, and in your car. One day, it could save the life of a stranger, a friend, or someone you love.
Most importantly, teach your children to never take a pill, medication, or drug that was not prescribed specifically for them or obtained from a licensed pharmacy. Counterfeit pills can contain fentanyl, and the person offering them may have no idea they are deadly.
Please don't make the same mistake. Talk openly, stay involved, and never believe it couldn't happen to your family.
Love your child fiercely and never stop talking with them.

Learning and Growing
The School Years
From the time he was just one year old, Aaron loved balls — it was always his favorite gift. Growing up he played football, ice hockey, basketball, wrestling, and arm wrestling. Basketball was his favorite. As he got older he played beach volleyball and basketball, and was always on his bike or anything with wheels.
This book is about learning and growing through school and the childhood experiences that shaped Aaron. He was a true daredevil — he loved to dance, play basketball, ride motorbikes, launch off jumps on pedal bikes, ride scooters and skateboards.
He loved trips to theme parks and the ocean, and nothing lit him up like seeing the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies.

His nicknames
- “Sticks”
Given to him in grade school by his basketball coach, Mr. Kissell — Aaron's favorite adult ever.
- “A-Mac”
Given to him by his friends.
- “A-A-Ron”
Given to him by his friends.
- “Goose”
Given to him by his mom — as a child he laughed so hard when she read Silly Little Goose by Nancy Tafuri to him.
Aaron dreamed of traveling the world and making it a better place. He had a wisdom beyond his years — a gentle soul beneath all that fearlessness.

Leaving the Nest
Until We Meet Again
This story is about a teen leaving the nest to become an adult — to experience the trials and tribulations of a young adult trying to make it on their own. Life can be hard, and you don't know how much time you have with someone.
Always say “I Love You” and give hugs. You never know if it's the last time, and you will live with the regret that you didn't get one last hug or “I Love You”.
